Itinerary

Day-by-day Flow

Day 1

Arrival Guwahati | Drive to Shillong

Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station where our representative will assist you. Proceed on a scenic drive to Shillong (approx. 3–4 hrs), fondly known as the Scotland of the East for its rolling hills and colonial-era charm. En route, pause at Umiam Lake (Bora Pani) for photographs or optional speed boating. If time permits, visit the Don Bosco Museum for an introduction to the indigenous cultures of North East India. Overnight Stay in Shillong.

Day 2

Shillong & Cherrapunjee Excursion

After breakfast, begin with a visit to Elephant Falls before driving towards Cherrapunjee (Sohra), one of the wettest places on earth. Explore Mawkdok Valley viewpoint, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls (seasonal), Mawsmai Caves and Dainthlen Falls. Adventure seekers may opt to visit Wai Sawdong Falls (moderate trek; seasonal flow). Return to Shillong by evening. Overnight Stay in Shillong.

Day 3

Dawki & Mawlynnong Excursion

Today proceed for a full-day excursion to Dawki near the Indo–Bangladesh border. Enjoy boating (direct payment basis) on the crystal-clear Umngot River, famous for its glass-like waters. Later visit Mawlynnong, known as the cleanest village in Asia, and experience its spotless pathways and community-driven eco culture. A short walk leads to a Living Root Bridge, a fascinating natural formation unique to Meghalaya. Return to Shillong for overnight stay.

Day 4

Shillong to Kaziranga

After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 6–7 hrs). Home to the world’s largest population of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga is a UNESCO-recognized wildlife haven of tall grasslands, wetlands and forest corridors. Check in at your wildlife lodge. Overnight Stay in Kaziranga.

Day 5

Kaziranga Safari Experience

Early morning proceed for an Elephant Safari (subject to forest allocation) for close encounters with the famed one-horned rhino. After breakfast, visit the Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park showcasing regional flora and Assamese cultural performances. In the afternoon, enjoy a Jeep Safari across the park’s central range. Overnight Stay in Kaziranga.

Day 6

Kaziranga to Dirang (Arunachal Pradesh)

After breakfast, drive to Dirang (approx. 7–8 hrs). Complete Inner Line Permit (ILP) formalities en route at Bhalukpong. Visit Tippi Orchidarium (subject to operational days) before continuing into Arunachal Pradesh — a land of diverse tribes and ancient traditions. Arrive in Dirang by evening. Overnight Stay in Dirang.

Day 7

Dirang to Tawang via Sela Pass

Visit Sangti Valley or Dirang Monastery before driving towards Tawang. Cross the breathtaking Sela Pass (13,700 ft) and admire Sela Lake surrounded by snow-clad peaks. En route visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial commemorating the 1962 Indo-China war. Continue to Tawang — a high-altitude Himalayan town deeply rooted in Monpa Buddhist culture. Overnight Stay in Tawang.

Day 8

Bumla Pass & High-Altitude Lakes

Proceed for a full-day excursion to Bumla Pass (Indo–China Border, approx. 16,200 ft; subject to permit and weather conditions). Visit PTSO Lake, Y-Junction and Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake), surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. Local vehicles are required for this excursion (additional cost applicable). Return to Tawang by evening. Optional Sound & Light Show at Tawang Monastery. Overnight Stay in Tawang.

Day 9

Tawang to Bomdila

After breakfast, visit the magnificent Tawang Monastery — the largest monastery in India and an important centre of Mahayana Buddhism. Drive to Bomdila (approx. 6–7 hrs), offering panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas. Visit Bomdila Monastery and enjoy the serene mountain setting. Overnight Stay in Bomdila.

Day 10

Bomdila to Guwahati

After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati (approx. 7 hrs). En route, pass through scenic valleys and river confluences near Bhairabkund (Indian nationals may explore the border area subject to local regulations). Arrive and check in at hotel. Overnight Stay in Guwahati.

Day 11

Guwahati Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas situated atop Nilachal Hill. Later explore Umananda Temple (river island temple), Assam State Museum, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra and enjoy an optional sunset Brahmaputra River Cruise (at extra cost). Overnight Stay in Guwahati.

Day 12

Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey. Tour Concludes with the Untouched Beauty of India’s Eastern Himalayas.
